Groundbreaking for new academic building at BethanyBethany Public Relations Office Groundbreaking for a new 66,000 square foot academic building on the campus of Bethany Lutheran College will take place on Sunday, June 15, 2008, at 3 p.m beginning with a service in Trinity Chapel. The building will occupy a prominent campus location at the corner of Marsh and Divisions streets.
The yet unnamed building will be home to the departments of communication, humanities, social and behavioral sciences, and religion.
“In past days, the entire Bethany campus utilized one main academic space which led to an integrative environment that truly fostered collaboration and idea sharing. The goal with this new facility is to recapture that synergy of students, faculty, and departments interacting together,” says Bethany’s president Dr. Dan R. Bruss.
The facility will feature many state of the art technological enhancements and will include new facilities for the College’s communication studios. Included in the building will be twenty-two classrooms and thirty offices for faculty and staff members. Actual construction on the building is scheduled to commence in late July 2008.
