Extracurriculars
With over a dozen
athletic
teams, several choirs and bands, four major theatre productions per year, multiple
speech and debate tournaments, a bi-monthly school newspaper, numerous art exhibitions,
student government, intramurals and frequent volunteer opportunities, students
at Bethany have plenty of opportunities to get involved. And, thanks to the relatively
small student population, the best part is that you don’t have to “warm
the bench” in order to be the lead actor in the drama or to get playing
time on the basketball court. Freshmen and sophomores can be in the spotlight:
they are the officers in the student senate, the soloists in the choir, the editors
of the newspaper and the starters on athletic teams.
As a student at Bethany, you could find yourself producing your first full-length
movie in our state-of-the-art broadcast studio, traveling to the coast with the
choirs, playing in a state athletic tournament, or debating overseas with students
from numerous different countries. Your level of involvement is up to you; you
can get involved in several activities or concentrate on just one. Whatever you
decide, the opportunities are there for the taking.
