Personalized Education

It's a claim many colleges make. Bethany backs it up. What do we mean by personalized education? To start with, you're on a campus with about 600 students. Using recent enrollment data, the average class size was 20 students. The biggest class was 50, the smallest was two. It doesn't get much more personal than that.

Here are some other factors you should consider:

A 12:1 student-to-teacher ratio
This means you will have access to your professors both in and out of the classroom.

Collaborative Learning
While some classes are taught in the traditional lecture format, the faculty at Bethany is also committed to teaching in a collaborative learning setting. This allows students to form small groups in which they research topics and projects, and present the material to other students - all under the guidance of their instructors. This then requires the students to LEARN the material, not just memorize facts for a test.

A 6:1 student-to-computer ratio
Bethany is committed to offering students the technology and resources needed for the optimum educational experience. Bethany maintains three teaching labs on campus and a general access lab in the Student Union. Each lab has general productivity and Internet software on all of the computers. The Windows lab is also used for business classes and programming, the Macintosh lab for graphic arts and the iBook lab for writing and communication courses. We also have an eight-computer lab set up with music keyboards, Coda Finale 2000 and Practica Musica for use in music courses.

For students who wish to bring their own computers there are at least two network connections in each dorm room to connect to the college network.
